Job Title: Lifting Supervisor
Department: Construction 
Location: Portsmouth
Reports To: Site Manager 

Job Summary:

The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all lifting operations on site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project-specific lifting plans. They coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and site management to execute lifts safely and efficiently. The Lifting Supervisor plays a critical role in hazard identification, risk management, and ensuring that lifting activities are conducted in line with local laws and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on site.

• Ensure lifting plans are developed, reviewed, and implemented properly.

• Conduct pre-lift meetings and risk assessments before any lifting activity.

• Monitor work practices to ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

• Liaise with crane operators, riggers, signalers, and site engineers to ensure safe operations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Lifting Supervisor or in a similar role.

• Certification as a Lifting Supervisor (e.g., by a recognized safety authority or regulatory body).

• Strong knowledge of lifting operations, equipment, and relevant safety regulations 

• Ability to read and understand lifting plans and technical drawings.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training in rigging and slinging operations.

• First Aid

Working Conditions:

• Work may be performed outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Involves physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting.

• May require working at heights or in confined spaces, depending on site conditions.

• Involves working on the Highway
